Question Barclaycard use new collection agency?

    Hi,

I am new to this site,so first of all I would like to say hello to every one!

I have a number of debts, and have been with Payplan for some 6 yearsicon now.The thing is though I am aware of Barclaycards techniques in harressment and constant phoning;here is an interesting point.

I rang Barclaycard today(yes it will be the last time) to discuss my account, and I implied that due to the fact that they will not stop interesticon charges on my account(with several letters requesting this) and that I cannot pay any more..... take me to court!

But here's the punch. They asked me to ring their debt collectionicon agency called "CCS" based in Thornton Heath I believe. on tele.08001381111.

Note I have no intention of doing this,it is up to them;however has any one had any dealings with the above agency?

    All comments appreciated.

    Regards

    Perry

Not a DCAicon - this is the Consumer Credit Counselling Service. Maybe they were suggesting that having them (or the Citizens Advice) behind you would enable them to cancel the interesticon. Perhaps for once they were actually being helpful

    Hi Pez,

Have you suffered penalty charges on this a/c - if so you can reclaim them from BC to reduce the amount you owe them. Read the Reclaiming Guide in Link No1 in my signatureicon below.

If you send them an SARicon for your a/c statements (if you don't have them all for the last 6 yearsicon), this also asks for a valid copy of the Credit Agreement for the a/c.

If they don't have it, you can insist they:-

    * Stop demanding payments from you.
    * Stop adding interesticon or any further charges to the alleged debt.
    * Do not pass on, or sell, the alleged debt to a third party.
    * Do not issue a default notice for the alleged debt.
    * Do not register any information with a credit reference agency.

So, in theory, you could get the charges refunded and you could then pay off the alleged debt at a rate which suits you (if there's no valid Credit Agree't).

You can also call CCCS who are a Debt Counselling charity who help those in debt.
