Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I sent Nat West a SAR about 8 or 9 weeks ago, I received a reply which included my 2 most recent statements and nothing else.
I rang the person who had replied the next day, only to be told that the person in question was no longer with the department. The person I spoke to had a look at my file and agreed that the information was incomplete but the SAR should have been sent to another department. She said she would e-mail the relevant department and I would receive all the information in due course.
It has been 2 weeks now, am I getting the run-around? It seems like it to me, is it time to go to the Ombudsman etc with a non compliance complaint?
I sent Nat West a S.A.R - (Subject access request) about 8 or 9 weeks ago, I received a reply which included my 2 most recent statements and nothing else.

Any advice would be gratefully received.
Hello RV,
Did you send the sar recorded delivery and have proof of delivery. You can check this one the royal mail website. Also did they cash the cheque.
Who did you send it to. Was it to the Data Controller at their edinburgh office.
They have 40days to comply with this legal request under the Data Protection Act 1998 if they go over this the are in serious breach.
Send them a non-complaince letter telling them they are now in breach of the compliance and give them a few more days to comply or you will report them to the Information Commissioners Office, they regulate the control of data and they will investigate and push nw for the information
You will find the non-compliance template letter in the bank template sticky on the main page of the forum. Get it sent asap, recorded delivery and keep the receipt and as stated above check on the RM website to ensure they get it
The nastywest are never in a hurry to give you the information and like to frustrate matter to make it as difficult as possible for you, hoping you will give up, because they know what you are going to do with it.
Keep at them

Yes sent it recorded delivery and they cashed the cheque. I destroyed the recorded delivery slip as when they replied the heading was:
‘DATA PROTECTION ACT 1998- SUBJECT ACCESS RESPONSE’
So I assumed the fact that they had responded to the initial request was proof enough.

I sent it to Customer care Southend On Sea. The reply came from PPI Customer concerns in Manchester. CURIOUS :? as you say below ‘they know what you are going to do with it.

HI HHNF,
Thanks for the response, reading some of the threads on here it appears that you help a great deal of people, so I am extremely grateful for your time in helping me. I have answered your questions (In blue).
Should I send the non compliance to Edinburgh? Should I enclose a copy of the original SAR and a copy of their initial reply?

Why thank you for your kind words
Here is the template letter to send them, no point ringing them unless you record the conversation They go right whatever and do nothing. You need a real papertrail, from start to finish and keep absolutely everything in a file.
I personally would send it to the edinburgh office,
Here is the address, sent it to Ms J Tudor
