Personal Injury claim following car accident - urgent help needed
Hi,
A friend of mine was involved in a car accident and now they have been sent a summons from the other party's solicitor for a personal injury claim against them. The two parties named are the two individuals involved. My friend has comprehensive insurance. Will my friend's car insurance company deal with the claim as it is made by an individual?
The letter they were sent said they have to file a form 42 within 21 days if they want to challenge the claim. My friend has sent a copy of the letter they received to their insurance company, so will they appoint a solicitor to do this and will they pay for it? Is there anything my friend should do themselves?

Ok stop and don't worry
The driver of the car needs to send that letter direct to her insurers and leave it at that.
Their insurers will sort everything out, letters from solicitors often look scary and frighten people, but you have no need to worry, everything will be dealt with on your behalf by the insurance company (that's why you have insurance)
