Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have been having an ongoing issue with Thomas Cook Airlines since May 2008.
On the 27th May I flew into Manchester from Puerto Plata and waited at the Carousel along with the rest of the passengers for my luggage.
When the luggage did start to appear after 2 hours, most of it was luggage bound for Glasgow from Puerto Plata not Manchester.
After 4 hours of waiting and listening to false promises from Thomas Cook that the bags will come they advised we leave the airport and handed us all a form with the address for their loss adjusters.
I contacted the loss adjusters when I got home and they said it is nothing to do with them until after 21 days when the bag is now officially lost.
I waited the 21 days and then wrote them a letter with my flight details, ticket and baggage tag etc.
Initially they did not respond so I wrote again and then they replied saying that I have to contact Manchester Airport baggage handling team.
I did this, the baggage handling team have no record of my baggage or the tag number and said that because I left the airport without filling in a Property Irregularity Report I have no claim.
It was Thomas Cook who told me to leave without the bag along with hundreds of other passengers. I accept some of these passengers may have been lucky enough to get to the lost luggage desks early and fill forms in but when the queue was hundreds of people long it was them who asked us to go home.
Now I have no luggage, I cannot claim off my insurance Norwich Union because they won't accept it's lost luggage without TC confirming it's lost and TC denying all knowledge of my bag ever existing or being on the plane.
I have spent many hours on the phone to Thomas Cook customer service being passed from one department to another (usually the one I have just come from).
No one is helping me including Norwich Union and now I am £850 out of pocket.
Can anybody give me any idea's??
Thanks
Eddie
