Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have been in a bit of a battle with Barclaycard to get my last 6 years statements...
2 Months later I have recieved a letter saying something along the lines of..we are sorry that you are unhappy with the charges applied to your account etc etc etc...as a goodwill gesture we are offering to refund anything over the £12 charge - so on a £30 charge i would get £18 etc etc...
They didnt give me any statements, or Breakdown of the charges etc and have refunded this money to my account without giving me the option to reject the offer...
They have refunded in the region of £180..which i think if they refunded the full charges would then be in the region of £300 and with interest on top it would probably be a lot more than that...
Can they do this? Or do they have to provide me with a break down of charges.
Would my next step to be reject their offer and only accept it as a partial payment? I am unable to tell them i request the full amount and give them a figure as they havent told me how much the charges totalled to?
the request for statements was done via email, and then they forwarded it to the customer relations dept, they then said they still havent been able to resolve the complaint and they will be in touch soon...
they then sent the letter offering the amount they did...can i still send them the data protection non compliance?
Yes, I would think so, they have 40 days to comply, which they obviously have not, I can't see any problems sending the Non- Compliance letter, maybe give them a shake.
Regards.
Scott.
