    Unhappy welcome finance

my husband and myself have an issue with miss sold PPIicon with welcome and also arrears we have accumulated even tho we pay direct debiticon..... Each time I phone to complain, they tell me someone will fone back and then I have also written letter 8wks ago and had no reply from them to even acknowledge my letter.
Im seein lots of people pursuin refund on ppi with welcome but wen I spoke to them, they said I wouldnt get refund or would it change our monthly payments but they may consider a rebate on our loan which might reduce term left to pay by a couple of months....
Can anyone help...Does this sound correct or are they wastin my time and tryin to put me off pursuin this issue?...... Any help much appreciated...Thanx

I didn't know the answer so BUMPED your thread, it means Bring Up My Post.
At times some posts are missed, so a BUMP can direct people to a particular thread.
Can you say what your letter stated, and are those wonderful people at Welcome fianceicon offering this rebate out of the kindness of their hearts, no chance they IMHO are worried that you will contine to pursue them.

    Unhappy Re: welcome finance

They are not offerin rebate, I had asked them if we could cancel the PPIicon and they said no so I told them that we were miss sold the ppi and they said the guy who done our loan was the best in their business and they doubt if he done anythin wrong coz he was great at wat he does altho he has left welcomes employment a few years back... They said he knew wat he was doin and I argued that he didnt so I was gonna pursue the issue of cancellin it and gettin refund coz we were told if we didnt take the ppi then we wouldnt get the loan and as we were strugglin at time, we had no option but to sign it.... I asked the guy I spoke to if we would get refund and he said no coz welcome would just do rebate on amount outstandin which would just reduce the tern we pay them but we are already in arrears of £1600 and I aksed how that happened and he explained we get charged for calls they make to us and also we missed payments which is crap and we both knew it... He couldnt even look me in face wen i laffed at his nonsense.... I asked for a statement and he said they didnt do statements so I said if I dont get one then i will cancel direct debits.... He then gave me a lot of useless info about how he will go to his superior and demand one for me coz I am such a good customer etc.... I did get statement, but it has my last 6mths poayments on it and thats it..... They doin nothin but tryin to put me off tryin to cancel ppi
I need to know if I can cancel the ppi, and how I go about it and are they allowed to charge us for any calls they make to us?
All help much appreciated... I would upload copy of agreement and statement if I knew how to do it so you could try help me coz I really think we are bein screwed by this company.... We got loan of £15,000 and are havin to pay back £36,000..... I am just so mad that we were so hard up financially that we went to them in first place..... We payin more to them than we are for our house...Its atrocious

best in the business lol. dont suppose they said no to a refund in writing cause they know that is naughty!

What letters have you sent? my advice would be to continue to pursue for a full rebate as Welcome are particularly awful for mis-sellingicon and I've had dealings with them for a friend and they got a full rebate!

What are the reasons you have cited for mis-selling. Have they responded at all in writing?

I told them we were told it was condition of loan and the guy said he didnt think it was the way the good buy who gave us the loan worked coz he was big in financial matters.
I do want to pursue it and get rebate coz I think we bein robbed blind but I dont know how to start the ball rollin coz I have only mentioned it verbally to our agent in local office wen I asked for statement.
How do I know I am entiteled to cancel and get rebate?... How do i start the ball rollin?.. Do I deal with our local office or head office?
Do I have to have PPIicon to cover welcome payments before they will even consider cancellin it?.... It says on our agreement we are covered by medicare but we aint never had no paperwork thru to tell us wat we are payin for and wat the ppi covers etc.... How do we know we actually do have adequate cover?

This is my stock answer - start from wherever you need to as I'm not sure what you have and havent done so far:-

You need to identify the reasons you feel you were mis-sold (e.g you were self employed, you already had a medical condition, you were unemployed, they insisted you had to take it out etc etc) see this thread for a list of reasons

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...claimants.html

You will also need to have all of the information to start with so if you don't already have all the statments, settlement Breakdownicon and contracts etc then send the following SARicon with a postal order for £10 to make the request (they must provide this information within 40 days) Also make sure you send the letter recorded delivery and keep the proof they received it.

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...s-request.html

Once you have all the info you can then send off the mis-selling letter template, these letters can be found in the first post of this thread (scroll down the post til you found the heading "Template Letter 1"

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...claimants.html

Hope that helps start you off! I would also suggest you have a read around the PPIicon forum particularly in the stickies at the top as there is alot of helpful information to assist you along the way and keep us updated

oh and as for the medicare you can attempt to claim that as mis-sold too if it was! I got that part repaid to my friend too!

You don't have to have insurance but if you do want it its far cheaper to buy elsewhere!

Feel free to add the fact that you tried to cancel but were refused to your claim!

And finally from my dealings with Welcome Finance I would have to say that I struggle to believe any are "big in financial matters" especially not the sales staff. I do however know that they get a much bigger commission for selling the PPIicon than the loan (as they kindly sent that info to my friend for her SARicon - I believe it was around £200 commission compared with around £30 for commission on the loan itself! Think that shows where the problem of mis-selling stems!)

Excellent info and support sparkie, can you believe how much commission they get for mis-selling and the fact that they stated he is very good at sales. probably living the high life in the maldives

They are not allowed to refuse to cancel your ppi Do not telephone them again as unless you record their conversation. You need to write to them and in doing so, you will have a paper trail to catch them out. ~They also cannot insist that you take out a new loan. There is guidence from the FSA regarding this

Consumers to benefit from PPI refunds agreement

Thanks HHNF I was astounded when they sent the Breakdownicon of the commission - it just goes to show why these staff do what they do - 6 times the commission on PPIicon compared to just selling the loan is a big "incentive"! Its not as if Welcome don't make enough off their customers anyway - its usually big long loans with very high rates!

Oh and Poochie I also missed out the charges bit. These are also possible to reclaim and once you get all the statements through you can work out how much they have charged you and make a claim for this too!

This company truly makes me mad and I've never even used them myself! Best of Luck!
