Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
After doing lots of reading a few weeks ago I have now filled in and printed out my Data Protection Act request letter, which is ready to be posted tomorrow.

I received my statements yesterday in 3 envelopes and have just put all the charges and interest into the spreadsheet and am horrified to find out that the charges are £635, I expected them to be £300 - £400.
I have filled in the preliminary letter and have that and the list of charges to send off on Monday.
I have a standard current plus account and in some of the early 2000 statements I had an account fee charged of £5 per period that I was overdrawn. I have assumed that I can not claim this back as I guess I was aware of this at the time and I haven't seen this charge mentioned, is that correct? As the charge is listed in the charges to be applied box.

Well done. i am still waiting for a reply with bank statements . Letter sent in June. They also cashed my cheque. i am going to call Natwest on Monday.
I have received my second letter from Stuart Higley so am just reading up about submitting my claim and deciding whether to submit online or in person.
As the claim is for a lowish amount and uncomplicated I think I'll probably go with MCOL but need to redo my speadsheet and rereading the FAQs as I don't want to make any mistakes.
If any mods read this could you change the title of the thread to remove the early days bit.
Many thanks

I decided to file with MCOL as there isn't a county court local to me and it took me a while as I wanted to get everything right.
I have read that some people have been posting their spreadsheets of charges, are they posting them to the court that is holding the hearing? And will the exact court that it is being held in show up in MCOL?
I found the actual process of submitting a claim quite nerve racking as I didn't want to make any mistakes.
