    Default First Plus/Norton Finance issue

    Hi,

I write to First Plus complaining regarding the rebates they made against two loans (joint with my wife) when they were settled in full.

Here's an extract from my letter :

"The reasons below reiterate the main points of our complaint :-

*It was not stated at any point during the new advance of agreement no XXXX2 that any PPIicon from agreement no XXXXX1 was to be added to XXXX2. We were never given a complete Breakdownicon of the rebate due against the initial advance and the rebate applicable against the PPI. We therefore had no idea that any PPI was to be included within the new advance.
*It was never made clear that to us, by your organisation, that a substantially reduced rebate would be made against any early cancellation of the PPI or settlement of the loan.

We don’t consider this to be “fair and reasonable” practice to add £733.48 to our further advance and then upon settlement of the further advance to only offer a rebate of £1347.95 against the original premium of £9796.00 after 7 months into a 12 year agreement (your rebate represents 13.7% of the total premium).

We respectfully request that your return to us a full refund of both policies representing £17130.76 land all interesticon made against these policies, minus the
rebates of £6601.28 and £1347.95 provide by you at settlement of both agreements.
    "

I have had a reply from First Plus giving me a breakdown of the two agreements I had with them but they have completely ignored the questions raised in my letter. I've also had a letter from Norton Finance who brokered the first agreement stating that they would be happy to investigate if my complaint is not to do with the amount of the rebate.

I get the impression that First Plus are trying to "fob" me off with Norton who in turn are referring me back to First Plus.

My complaint is with regards to the rebate given to me by First Plus so I'd appreciate some help as to who I should be directing my complaint to.

    Thanks

    Hi MrMonkey

This is a Q which a few people (including myself) are battling with.

What I will be doing (and what I've seen others doing) is to address letters to the Lender (First Plus) referring in them to the actions of both the Lender (FP) and the Broker (Norton) and copying these letters to Norton.

Then take it from there ...

Any advice given is purely on the basis of my own views and opinions and offered in good faith.
