HI People, this is my first time on this site but it seems very very useful, i was wondering, i have just obtained my free credit report from credit expert and it states on there that i have a default on my account to a company called scotcall off 3 years ago for £350 with a date of birth on there of 7 years out of what my actual date of birth is, i dont ever recall using this company and have never believed to have gone into default with any company in any way shape or form.
Can anyone please advise me if there is anyway that i can get this removed from my credit file as it is affecting me drastically stopping me from obtaining any further credit
Write to Experian/Credit Expert saying that you have no knowledge of the account and that the date of birth is wrong so you believe it belongs to someone with the same name. They will query it with Scotcall who may just agree for it to be removed. If they don't post whatever reply you do get and get help on what to do next.

I am not an expert in law, finance or any related field, I just read a lot. Any advice is based solely on what I've read so please don't take it as gospel without checking it out yourself.
I prefer not to give advice by PM. If you want me to look at something, send me a link to your thread, and if I can help I'll reply on there.
