    Default great universal default!!!

ive just applied for a mortgageicon and was shocked to be told i had a default showing. idid my credit check and none were present. So...i did another credit check with equifax and it show that i have 2 payments in arrears from 2006!
i know nothing about a defaul and certainly did not get any kind of warning or letter about it. i simply forgot to pay on time.

is there anything i can do to get this removed??!"

    please help!

Have you since cleared the balance? Is the account actually showing as 'in default' or is it just a couple of late payments?

I am not an expert in law, finance or any related field, I just read a lot. Any advice is based solely on what I've read so please don't take it as gospel without checking it out yourself.

I prefer not to give advice by PM. If you want me to look at something, send me a link to your thread, and if I can help I'll reply on there.
