Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Newbie to the Forum, wish I had found you sooner x
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and would appreciate some guidance I have quite a few issues I need to sort out and am looking around.
First stop is the bailiff section bristow and sutor V me ref council tax,
got home to a hand delivered letter yesterday. Notification that someone had called and I was to ring them back on a mobile number.
Letter also states that a payment arrangement can be made, but to allow this, I will need to allow him access to my home so he can make a list of what goods I have that can be sold if I fail to pay. Can I refuse to let him in?
I was in full time employment but was dismissed last December, I have worked temping jobs since, at the moment I am unemployed ( looking for full time work) and have no income coming in, except £400 per month rent which I get from my Son-inlaw as he and my Grandaughter who is 11 live with me at this moment in time. I have been looking after my grandaughter doing all the parental guidance etc plus all the usual duties that go with looking after an 11 year old. My daughter decided to one day up and leave, so to save the family ties, I took on the responsibilty. My ex husband is very helpful but he has a life of his own and I cannot seek assistance from him.
I feel right now at the end of my tether, do you think I can approach the Council at this late stage to set up a payment plan with them rather than the bailiff?
I have a bank loan for £7,000 which at the moment I am unable to pay, I have to go and see the bank about that, I am overdrawn at the bank also, I have a credit card which I owe £495.00 on and my water rates are due to be paid
Sorry about my depressive ramblings.
I look forward to one day being in the black and not in the red
