Thread: Civil Penalty Charge

I was in Asda Hull today and noticed their PPC carpark signs (sorry didn't notice name of PPC) include the bold header of "Civil Penalty Charge"

I thought the use of the word "penalty" by the PPCs was a big no-no or am I mistaken?

As they very very rarely take anyone to court though, and Trading Standards don't care, they could probably call it anything they wanted.

Of course, if a PPC stupidly took you to court over their 'penalty' they'd be mad.

Feel free to contact Asda though. I believe the signs are Asda branded using their Frutiger typeface.

I don't live in Hull so can't recheck the detail. I might see if the Sunderland one uses the same signs though coz that's nearer for me
