Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Have just received statements from TSB Visa. Have a query? Can I include interest charges as well as late charges and admin fees. I have checked the FAQs but I can't see anything about it. But I could be having a senior moment. Can anyone help?
Generally I would say no. interest charges are a legal service/charge. It would depend if the interest was attributable to the penalty charges or not. Yes, late payment charges are a penalty. I am not sure what admin fees are but maybe include them and if they dispute them, then remove them later on.
Balance on card at July 2003 was £2273.79
Balance on card at June 2006 is £2117.62 although I have made no purchases and have paid £1887.93.
I have been charged in that period £780 in penalties, card protection etc (now cancelled)and £980.83 in interest. It is this interest that I am querying.
Please confirm if I can include this on my spreadsheet.
If the interest is clearly made up from the penalty charges yes include it.
Not sure about the card protection as this is a service charge not a penalty.
