Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I live on the Isle of Man, so may need more specific advice. I would appreciate anyone's help on this matter.
After parking in a 2 hour disc zone, we were making our way back to the car for the 14.40pm deadline. My daughter ran ahead to get into the car. When she got there, we had a FPN. On my watch it was just 14.40pm, so I thought that we had retrned in time. The FPN states the time as 14.43pm. The Issuing Officer was stood just 2 cars distance away.
Is there any leeway if you over run the time limit, for a few minutes. Or can they get you just on the dot. It's Gran Prix Week here, with bikes parked alll over the place in the most inapropriate places, yet the Issuing Officer was happily moving slowly through the cars issuing tickets.
I know that it is Manx jurisdiction, but I hope someone can help.
I have a scanned copy of the ticket, if it would be of help, and if someone can tell me how to post it. Many thanks, Alison
upload your scanned image to your account and then copy and paste the URL into your thread post. I copy the first url from the list at photobucket which is email and IM,
Very quick and easy and gives the forum a near perfect view.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.
well that was another post, you could reply to me that'll be another,

Hi you left the reg no. on the ticket, I don't know if you were aware of that, weather you mind it being on the web or not.

FPNs are generally very hard to beat as you need to take the fight to the maggys court. It is generally a crap shoot as to how the bench will accept your story. Writing a letter is generally pointless as they will tell you to take it to court.
