Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
So, in my darkest days last year i made a CCA request.
Sadly no agreement could be provided, but many threats, phone calls and letters from solicitors forced a complaint to Trading Standards.
Trading Standards upheld the complaint and no more was heard....
....until recently.
In recent months the odd non threatening letter has arrived, gently encouraging me to continue with payments or to contact them.
Time for a response i thought, something i have threatened to do before. So i decided to make a fresh start and re-send the CCA request. Of course the new unfair commercial practice Directives have nothing to do with it.....
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

Yes they were BB. I now need to seek resolution.
Now that someone is in control of the whole HFC thing i am dedicating some time to the debts without CAs, that i have left on hold. BCW won the prize to be dealt with 1st. This time i will be sure to have a conclusion of some sort as i don't want these people bothering me every 12 months or so. I also want to make some headway with tidying up my credit file a little.
Actually looking forward to doing this, this time around
I'm midway through the tunnel, but getting closer to the light.

Tee hee! I'd forgotten all about this acc and that i'd sent a CCA request. My reply consists of ...you were told before to contact the OC....you have acknowledged this with payments...please contact to come to an arrangement.
So, my 1st step is to request a copy of their complaints procedure.
2nd step is to use it! I will include correspondence from TS from last year - the general gist was provide an agreement or stop asking for cash!
These people really are a law unto themselves aren't they!

I've had a letter from Apex regarding a Lloyds TSB credit card. I've already seen off Credit Securities with this one (1 letter was all it took) and haven't heard anything for about 7-8 months. So far, I've emailed the 'I'm bemused' letter, but for the sake of a £1 postal order it ought to be possible to get them into a bit of a flat spin.
Is there an updated template letter for this circumstance?
Regards.
Fred
Before you criticise another man you should first walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you criticise him, you'll be a mile away and he won't have any shoes on.
Don't get me confused with somebody knowledgeable by all those green blobs. I got most of them by making people laugh.
Hi Fred, if you've already CCA'd the first lot of numpties there's no need to CCA apex. They are bound by the first CCA. If you haven't, use the ordinary CCA letter. Report apex to TS and the OFT for trying to collect on an account in dispute with another DCA and report the other numpties for passing it on

BB, I'd already CCAd Lloyds - I only sent Credit Securities the 'I'm bemused' letter. I don't know if Credit Securities passed it on to Apex or back to Lloyds for them to do so. Either way, they obviously don't think they've got a very strong case because the last I heard on this one was back in March.

Would it do any good BB? I find the regulatory bodies worse than useless and generally speaking can't be bothered with them.

The more people that complain, the more notice is going to be taken.

You're quite right BB, but It sometimes seems a bit pointless. At the moment I'm happy to keep this under control. When I get a bit more time I might start a few complaints.
