Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Apologies if in the wrong thread, but it may come in handy as I believe it can be a problem if companies were not regulated/covered - under jurisdiction at the time of taking out a loan and as you know the fos (Financial Ombudsman service) will only investigate complaints if they were under jurisdiction.
As you will be aware the FSA did not come into action until January 2005.
The only action some may have is "court action" if that finance company were not covered of when taking out credit prior to 2005.
So I am curious if anyone knows if there is a list or register for what companies were covered by GISC prior to 2005 ? Another words -
General Insurance Standards Council.;-)

Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat. Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy. What is essential in war is victory, not prolonged operations.
