Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I see from a couple of threads on here that LBTSB sometimes ask an accountholder to attend for a review, as part of the settlement offer. I'm regularly in touch with my account manager so have no problems with this (in fact, quite ironically we have a good relationship!). However, I have a large overdraft facility which is vital for me. I also have my business account with them which again has an overdraft facility, but not as large as my private account.
My worry is that LBTSB may withdraw this facility on my personal account, as part of their settlement. Being a large facility, I doubt whether another bank would give me that much straight away (it's £8k). So I feel I may have to tread carefully. Or do you think this may be just a big bluff borne out of sour grapes??!!
Is there anyone else facing the same predicament, or has been through it?
hi, sorry to say they are withdrawing this facility to some people, you may be lucky with your manager but if the orders to foreclose are coming from on high then you may not be

Your situation is very similar to mine. I am seeing my manager later in the week. I have to go really (although my lba will still stand) because I sent a couple of letters before I joined this forum in which I complained that they were not prepared to negotiate. I was really trying to get some brownie points if the case should ever get before a Judge as I was prepared to discuss but they were not. Unfortunately it has backfired as they have offered to meet at a time convenient to me. I will send them an agenda when I have made the appointment pointing out that I will not be prepared to discuss anything else. I'll keep you informed as it may help.
