Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have a Vauxhall Astra Elite 2 years old, parked with the handbrake on and the car moved down a hill and into a neighbours car. The handbrake was still on. Has anyone else had a problem with their Elite.
Vauxhall handbrake cables do seem to stretch easier than most, but it don't mean that the cable is the reason it failed.

I have driven Vauxhalls for many years. Viva estate, Astra estates, Astra hatchbacks, Cavaliers, Vectras and currently have an Astra Class hatchback.
Never had any problems with the handbrakes.
Having said that, when I park any car, I always leave it in gear. If the handbrake should fail, it doesn't roll very far.

In general that's correct, there is no inherent fault with Vauxhall handbrakes, but I had more Vauxhalls for handbrake attention than I ever did other makes, and it was either cable streatch or auto adjuster seized.
The auto adjuster seizing was probably the cause of the cable stretching as the driver would have yanked harder on the lever.
