Hi,
On 31st July, I sent a letter across to a company called MCE Portfolio Ltd, who are working on behalf of GMAC requesting a copy of my signed CCA. What prompted me to do this was that earlier that day I had a knock at my door and some geezer issued me with a Statutory Demand claiming I owed them £4741 for a car I had given back as I could no longer afford it in 2004.
I have today received a letter from MCE Portfolio confirming that I had surrendered the vehicle and that I remain liable for the unpaid instalments, they have enclosed a statement of what they claim I owe but no copy of the signed agreement as per my request on 31st July.
Their letter also staes that they had sent various letters out to me prior to Stat demand but no response was forthcoming. This is due to the fact that six months after I returned the vehicle I moved address. (The address on the statements they have sent is my previous address and is also dated 26/11/2006 - not bad considering I moved in 06/2005 and had had no previous contact from them)
Can anybody please give me some advice as to what I can do about this, I am in dispute with this as GMAC had not contacted me about this upon me returning the vehicle, i have requested copies of signed CCA, CSA copies of my file and details of phonecalls but these have been ignored
Any advice would be appreciated
