Yes mate, Steven helped me with my CapOne claim, I only put in for the 8% on that one, so have decided that I'll use this one for the chance to brush up on my compound interest knowledge

Thank you for your letter dated 02nd September 2008.
Although you have failed to conclude this matter within the 14 days given, I shall, as a gesture of goodwill, extend the deadline to the 23rd September 2008 for you to resolve the matter.
Should you NOT resolve the matter to my satisfaction I shall issue proceedings in the county court and without any further notice to you.
I enclose a copy of the letter sent to you on the 19th August 2008 and a further copy of the schedule of the money which you owe me.

You could still stick to the scheduled date of 16th Sept if you want. It'll make little difference TBH - they won't agree to repay the higher interest you're claiming and you'll have to file at court anyway.

The amount of charges was £402 and have been offered £440, I take it that £38 is 8% of £402.
I'm not happy with that and will send this

Dear Mr Thompson
Thank you for your letter dated 14th October 2008.
Although in my original request for charges letter dated 19th August 2008 I was claiming £1244.59 including Compound interest, I am prepared to try to settle this matter amicably.
I am prepared to drop my claim for Compound Interest on the understanding that you paid the 8% that you mention in your letter from the date that the charges occurred. I have enclosed a schedule of charges for your reference. The interest totals £141.55 and brings the claim including charges to £549.55.
My banking details are as follows
xxxx xxx xxx x
Sort Code : xx xx xx
Account Number xx xxx xxx
Should you not find this proposal acceptable, I shall have no other option except to file a Court Claim for the full charges and Compound Interest totalling £1244.59.
Yours sincerely
Any thoughts?
