Hi Caz and a very warm welcome to CAGicon,You will find lots of expert people who are very friendly .

To help you get more advice on your case and to let you keep a track of it, I will create a new threadicon of your own, within this same forum.

Have a look at similar threads which will help to skill you up.

Now that you have your own thread, just ask questions when you are stuck. Hopefully someone will post soon with some further advice.

Best of luck and enjoy CAGicon.

Any advice given by me is based solely on my experience in claiming, my experience in CAG or my opinion. I have no legal background. I want to encourage others to reclaim what is theirs.

Got a DCA breaking OFT guidance. Complain to the OFT about the DCA. Help put an end to these practices-

Cas17, your Eggicon card, can you still view it via online login? Can you still see your monthly payments going onto your account?

Egg, like other credit cards, have different ways of unloading an outstanding debt to collection agents, depending on how they view the eventual outcome.

In cases where Egg is not hopeful of collecting on a probable bad debt, they have been known to sell same for a fixed fraction of the outstanding balance to a DCAicon. In this scenario Egg would have little interesticon in what the DCA does recover.

All cards have explicit rules on the order in which monthly minimum payments wipe out outstanding debt, e.g. cash advance debit items are paid off before purchases. T&C online will probably cover this, but I am not sure whether penalty charges are paid off before purchases or after. If the rule is the latter and you have an outstanding balance, then it means you have never actually paid off the unlawful charges, i.e. it has always been a paper transaction, unlawfully levied, but never physically collected from you.

Egg put the debits on the account, now Egg insists on removing said debits from the same place. Hard to counter this line of reasoning, and I would think a Small Claims Court would rule the same way. From the way Egg is acting it looks as if they still have some interest in your account, i.e. they have not sold it in total to a third party.

If you decide to accept Egg's 100% repayment offer, perhaps you would like to let us know? How long did the process take? And well done.
