    Default Industrial Injuries Disablement

    Hi all
Does anyone know much about this benefit please. My husbands hospital consultant suggested that we should have been told about it, and to apply for it, but I was wondering how it is paid.

Is it a benefit instead of IB and DLA, or is it an extra payment made on top. I must admit I havent heard of it before and his CAB worker has never mentioned it either.

My husband had a stroke, and consultants suggested it was brought on by his driving job. He currently receives Incap ben, and DLA mobility and care lower rate. (Oh and 10p per week IS).

    Thanks

    Thank you.
I have found a page on the internet which gave lots of information on it, but I could not find anything to say that Strokes fell into their category.
We were told that it was bought on through work, but as yet I still havent filled the form out because apparently it has to be filled out by a Doctor or a proper Cab specialist??

I think we will fill it out, but I wouldn't want them to stop anything my husband is already receiving while they look into it, as it took us such a long time to get the DLA etc in the first place.
