Default MFI - Extended Warranties - Home Care Team

Be careful with the extended warranties. I purchased warranties with all of my appliances 2 years ago.

To seek assistance you have to go through a Homecare Team. 4 weeks, £7 in phone callsicon and two lost fridge loads of food (food int he fridge is not covered by insurance) I am still not able to get my fridge fixed.

Initially a rude individual called me and told me that I would get an engineer at 7am; I told her it was impossible due to commitments I had with my child and could she arrange it a little later. She said well your problem as the engineer likes to start early in your area and there is nothing I could do of you cant accept the appointment given. I waited until the school holidaysicon and called back I was promised a visit yesterday morning. At 2.30pm I called the homecare team and asked for a status update of the engineer; I was told that an engineer will be out and that I was never given a morning appointment and that he could arrive any time between 7am and 5.30pm. I called back at 5.30pm requesting a status update and was told that the engineer would arrive between 5.30pm and 11pm; as I live by myself I asked if they would give me a contact name of the person that would be calling and the company. The woman 'M' told me that they do not give out information on who will be coming, laughed and dropped the call! Despite waiting until 11pm no one came. I can only assume I was the but of some ones joke!...do engineers really turn up that late and do I have no right to know who may be coming from a security point of view?

Today I have to spend more money on the phone calling for assistance and no doubt more time waiting around for an engineer that does not turn up. Should I be forced into a 7am appointment as an alternative. I am not sure where to take this...I cant find any information on MFI's complaints department..

I would write to MFI at their registered office, explaining the situation and making a request for a copy of their complaints procedure.

Advice is based on my personal opinion, and what I have learnt from this forum.
