Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
When my partner I took out her credit card with HSBC some years ago she was working on a self employed basis and took out PPI by ticking the box on the application form, she was never advised then or since on PPI despite having since become a house wife with obviously different circumstances, she wrote to HSBC to claim back the charges but they have denied liability, how does she stand with this please? What should she do nex?
That sounds like your partner has good grounds to make a claim.
Having successfully claimed back PPI premiums which were charged to my old Goldcard account, I can confirm that HSBC will deny any wrong doing and will take it to the wire. If you have sent out your lba and they still refuse to settle then the only option is to take it to court. Trust me on this it is really easy and as long as your POC is correct and in check there is a bloody good chance that they will settle out of court. In fact if they don't I'll buy you a pint.
