Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I got my car clamped and removed by the ballifs under the instruction of TFL over unpaid congestion charge which i never received, i filed a statutory out of time which i won and the bill of £750 including the baliffs cost was reduced to the original £50 which i have paid.
My car was with the baliffis for 6months and when i went to take my car i discovered that all the electricals were taken out and i cost me £250 to put it back on the road.
can i claim againt TFL or the baillfs for all the money i spent and the distress it caused me?. I am a mother of two young kids and a student and my children carsit were locked in the car which made it difficult for me to go to school and get my kids to school too.
I am not an expert in law, finance or any related field, I just read a lot. Any advice is based solely on what I've read so please don't take it as gospel without checking it out yourself.
I prefer not to give advice by PM. If you want me to look at something, send me a link to your thread, and if I can help I'll reply on there.
not 100 % sure but me thinks that you may have to go through the courts to issue whomever a summons to explain to the judge why they stole parts from your car.
Also damages for injuries due to stress and anxiety the incident has caused you and perhaps reciprocal costs such as phone calls and letters.
Me thinks a solicitor maybe in order who will also recover their costs within the claim.
Someone more experienced may suggest otherwise, however this must be treated as theft and dealt with as such.
