Question misrepresentation act 1967. has anyone won in court using this .

I am at a stalemate with Loanmaker . they say that because i signed my agreement with them in 2003 they were unregulated and it was my choice to proceed with the loan and PPIicon. They said they offered an "INFORMATION ONLY SERVICE" so are not liable.
The only way forward for me now is to take them to the Small Claims Court. I am not sure what to do because there does not seem to be many people who have gone down this route.Has the "Misrepresentation Act 1967" been used by anybody and have they won? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also does anybody know if i would be liable for the other sides costs if i lost?
    Many Thanks.

I think someone on here has used that act and won not 100% sure though.

I've a vague recollection of one or more people on here having used the Misrepresentation Act 1967 with some success.

If you use the search tool - centre top of page - and look for posts in the PPIicon forums including the words 'Misrepresentation Act 1967' you should be able to locate their threads.

I'd have a look myself but I'm a bit pushed for time just now.

Let us know how you go! ;-)

Thanks for the advice Fred it looks like court is the only option left, just a bit concerned about the date because i expect loanmakers to still say they were unregulated at the time i took out the policy.
