Hi there,
Good morning. I transfered 50,000 gbp(converted into Indian rupees) from my UK HSBC account to Indian bank account. I did this transfer and obtained a reciept from the local branch. I verified all the particulars on the reciept.........found it ok. I recieved a letter from the HSBC confirming the transaction after 5 working days. I noticed that the indian bank number is typed incorrectly on the letter I recieved. I called HSBC and they agreed their mistake. Money is debited from my UK account and not been credited into my indian account. It is almost 7 working days since the transfer and HSBC hasn't got any clue where the money is.I want to file a complaint on these negligent people.Could some one advice me please. Thanks for your help.
I think you need to try to resolve it with the bank first, give them a deadline (e.g 14 days ) in which to resplve it. Let them know that if they fail you will report them to the Financial Ombudsman Service (fos).
Details of how to complain are on this link .
If you need more info ,just ask - we're a friendly lot on here....
