Thread: HSBC PPI Refund of Premium..but what about interest?

Hi,

Could anyone help me with this as i'm completely baffled....

I made a claim to HSBC on my PPI premium (inc. interest). the PPI was originally taken out 6yrs from my initial claim date.

HSBC did not admit any liability, however they offered me a refund on the full premium amount (WITH NO INTEREST). I signed the settlement agreement form in January 08. I have since requested the interest on the original claim, HSBC said go away, you have already signed the final settlement form and accepted the refund and your claim for interest is now over 6 months from original date of claim and therefore Financial Ombudsman is likely to throw this out.
The Interest accrued on the money that they kept from me for 6 years totalled around £900.
Could anyone advise if I have a right to claim this even though I have accepted their settlement? I think I have a right under county court Act i.e. 8% interest payable.

Any ideas/advice greatly appreciated!

I think if you signed the form you have agreed to full & final settlement not a lot you can do if this is the case sorry.
