Default Half paid PCN, now equita..

    Hi,
just wanted to seek some advice, here seems like its about the most well rounded and experienced.

I received a letter from court saying i had unpaid parking tickets. i had never received any ticket at the time and had moved from that address. However, not the issue, i did reguarly flirt with parking on Double Yellows, so probably did contravene. Again not the issue. After receiving this first letter i called and agreed to pay the total (£60 had risen £140). I paid £70 there and then, and agreed to pay the remainder £70 at the end of the month (pay day). Due to personal circmstances/ family tradegy i forgot to pay the rest.
Which is how it stayed for 7months. Two weeks ago i received a hand dated and hand posted letter from equitaicon, saying they were coming back in 7 days to remove my vehicle or personal effects.
I called the bailifficon who's number was on the
letter for two straight days and got a call back on the third. He basically said the courts had upped the fine to £353, but only 283 is remaining because of the original payment. i have written to equitaicon with one of these template letters (Freedom Of Information?)

could some one please tell me where i stand, are these charges over zealous, is it a coincidence they're the magical £353?

    Hi
I'm no expert so other may come along with better advice, the first thing park your car where the bailifficon can't find it, don't let the bailifficon in, there are some circumstances when they get gain entry through an unlocked door, open window and with permission of the court.
As I say someone with experience may be along to correct me.

yeah i have done. the car has been sorn'ed for about a year, so a friend has been storing it for me. As ive moved back to my parents for a little while the address has NOTHING of value thats mine there. Ive prewarned my brother and told him to only open the door to strangers on the chain (good advice anyway probably) and keep windows locked.

I really am not refusing to pay the fine, but £280 charge, seems steep.

I was under the impression that the charges are from the bailiffsicon, he was on the phone to me saying that it had gone up because of the court raising it, and he/equitaicon doesnt get any extra monies?
