Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights

I am making my 3rd claim with Halifax. I started the court proceedings through Moneyclaim but now it's going directly through my local court and the abnk have been granted a stay.
I don't understand this stay business. Nor do I understand how or why to get it lifted. What does this mean for everyone who has their claims on hold now, in the same situation as me?
I'm sure the answers are on here somewhere but this site has got so huge since my last claim!
I would be extremely grateful for any help with this as I'm not sure what to do.
All bank charges claims are routinely granted stays until the outcome of the OFT test case. In theory you can apply to have the stay lifted. In practice, very few have succeeded, even where the claimant has clearly demonstrated financial hardship
