in 2006 i became 65 pensionable - the Halifax card I have wrote and advised my PPI was cancelled, they have since been taking the same sum every month since. this month i was made part time and I wanted to see if i could claim on this PPI, they advised me after some confusing telephone calls that the sum was to cover life or sickness/hospitalisation.I have asked for copies of my policy and agreements, what can I do - can anyone give me the guidance I need to get satisfaction and money back. Should I also claim on the original PPI cover as I was a Co. Director most of the time this cover was running and im led to beleive that this is not covered??
You will not be able to claim just because you have become part time.
You are seeking to claim a PPI refund through mis-selling.
Ok when did you take out the Card and PPI?
Do you have credit agreement?, do you remember asking for the PPi?
Do you have a pre exsisting medical condition?.
The more info you give the advice you will receive.

Cannot ever remember asking for PPI on any card ive ever had.
during this cards life Ive been unemployed, a company director, and have an ongoing heart problem.
I have spoken to Halifax about the insurance cover and asked for a copy of my original agreement and a copy of the agreement I made which they are currently charging for (Now only health cover, but same cost as PPI co-incidence or what). Should I write.
If I can get your advice on this then I am going to look at all the rest of my cards-
i posted a response to adamansi in july and have not had any response, my file however has moved on. Halifax have acknowledged my claim and promised to repay. this must mean that they did something wrong, but im not sure what. now i want to see if i can get all my PPI back. excuse me if this is not quite correct or even in right place i find this forum a bit daunting as its so big??

Hello Pb,
I am sure that adamansi will look in on your thread, but well done on what you have achieved so far.
You are correct that this company has done something wrong, the mis-sold you ppi, or mis-applied it to your account, or they would not be prepared to refund you.
Do you know what payments they have taken from you, regarding the ppi.
If you do, put the on a spreadsheet, you will find one on the bank charges template sticky on the main page of the forum. If you cant find, manage todo it, please ask for help with this. You also require interest at either their contractual rate ( the rate of interest they took from you) or the statutory 8% interest the court would allow.
If you don't know the figures, you can sent them a SAR under the Data Protection Act asking for all information regarding this
If we can help you with this just ask

Hell- Thanks for prompt reponse, Ive got quite a bit of information on this PPI now and will list below
Yes i did send a SAR back in 2007, sent in a claim for £466 chages plus ci 757.87 total £1223.87. they repaid part £198 in november 07 but in never sent back agreement to this, but put file away as the courts were not accepting claims around this time.
due to a change in my financial situatuion i wrote to them asking to pay smaller amount on my card and at this time i noticed this charge, so in my letter i asked for them to make claim against my ppi cover and was told this was now a life cover and sickness. so i wrote back and asked for refund.
I now have the original agreement i signed in 18.09.02, which is a preprinted form with the boxes already x'd for credit card repayment cover and Halifax card protection. of course the form states the usual things about cancelling. I never spoke to anyone and do not ever remember getting a copy of this original insurance, although they did include in the bundle a Policy no then some micri copies of data but no actual policy cover document.
I think I have covered everything to date, what do yopu think I should do

hell, ive not got this file with me, i brought in my old file today with the original claim as it has statements from start of account till april 07 and was intending to do a listing. The other file was where i was negotiating a reduction in payments due to change of financial circumstances.
Im pretty sure that when they said i was now only covered for life and sickness I asked for a copy of my agreement to it and at that stage suggested i should get refund as i had no knowledge of it at all- They sent me back a copy of a letter dated 25th oct 2005 thanking me for my recent application for cc repayment cover, enclosing a policy, i could reproduce the entire content but im sure its the usual. attached to it was a schedule with a commencement date 21st feb 03 to 20th april 06- again could post complete details, -
the cover charges were first added to my charges listing as purchases on 24 oct 02. and been charged monthly since, although for some reason,in feb 03 statement there was not an amount added to my listing.then continues charges until oct 05, when again i cannot see a charges, then continues as repayment cover till the last statement i have in april 07, Both of the times when the repayment cover was not added was when a cheques was returned unpaid.
I dont remember seeing any of these documents, but i suppose thats not denying that they sent them.
My replies were usual ones we are looking into claim, then a response saying that they would reimburse me and ensure i was not financially worse off with their offer.
Thats where it stands-
Ive been typing so much i forgot the original question - I claimed for the Insurance cover back. at that stage I simply had in mind that they were definately not getting money from me for this rediculous sickness cover, but now that I have the original documents and the fact that they were all pre-printed, just for me to sign - I think i have a good case for all to be returned. There letter, saying i will be re-imbursed in full, is as usual as ambigous as all letters regarding claims seem to be and i feel that the admission to pay could be construed by me to pay all??
I dont see any reason why their use of ambiguity to confuse, shouldnt be used against them.
well i think ive given yu lock stock and 2 smoking barrels, but i still dont know if im right
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
