    Default Barclaycard /Say do one!!!

:-?i recently sent off a SARicon for my credit card account. i have calculated that having had PPI with them for about 5 yrs they have taken about £1000 without interesticon.
As i am self employed i wouldn't have been covered if i had needed to make a claim.

i wrote to B/card asking for my money back, and they have sent me, Their Final Response, which basically says that they sent me the contract which i had 30 days to sign which stated all about the PPI!!

    So they wont pay up!!

What is my next move do you think????:-?

    Hello love bug,

    welcome to the PPIicon forum.

i recently sent off a S.A.R - (Subject access requesticon) for my credit card account. i have calculated that having had PPI with them for about 5 yrs they have taken about £1000 without interesticon.
As i am self employed i wouldn't have been covered if i had needed to make a claim.

i wrote to B/card asking for my money back, and they have sent me, Their Final Response, which basically says that they sent me the contract which i had 30 days to sign which stated all about the PPI!!
This is a standard get lost letter we are not interested in your claim.
Do not let this put you off making a claim against Barclaysicon.
The banks are hitting potential claimants with this type of response to try to stop the flood of reclaims that they are going to be hit with. They the banks stand to lose millions on mis-sold PPI policies that were not worth a dot on the majority of cases.

I would advise you to have a good read of the stickies at the top of the forum to get as much information as you can that will be relevant to your potential claim.

Also have a read of the other threads to see if you can glean any useful information there.

PPI reclaiming is a new issue and it is just getting started so it may be a while before you get results.

Always post and although this is a new subject generally speaking people on CAGicon will always step in to help where they can.

    Good luck with your claim

    thanks for your advice!
I have heard that the Financial Obudsman is taking weeks to even look at the complaints let alone get round to acting on them!!

Is there another route that would work...court?

Hmmmm....nothing is ever as easy as it sounds is it??!

    Hello lovebug,

yes will work faster but if you lose that is that as they say if you do the fosicon and the complaint is not upheld then you can still go to court.

Your decision at the end of the day and yes the FOS is 6 to 9 months for adjudication, I have spoke to them this week.

    back again.

    see this ....
    <H2>

The Treasury Select Committee is set to launch an inquiry into the sale of payment protection insurance (PPIicon), after a string of reports revealing that the product is being widely mis-sold.
The committee, led by the Scottish MP John McFall, has already voiced concerns about the adequacy of the rules governing PPI earlier this year. However, its calls for a full-scale review of the sector were dismissedicon by the Financial Services Authority, which began regulating insurance products in January.
Since then, however, complaints about PPI have continued to pour in. And the committee, which last year forced Barclaycard into embarrassing revelations about the cost of its credit, will begin a new session when Parliament reconvenes next week

It will probably be a long fight, as Barclaycard will stall at every hurdle -they will not send ALL of your SARicon documents and then fob you off with standard letters.

Have a look at my thread here:
    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...rlcaycard.html

It's alot of reading, but if my help you with your claim.
