    Default Help with Barclaycard

Hi everyone this is my first post so I hope someone can help.
I am being chased by debt collectionicon agency for balance of £2803.90 n Barclaycard.

I reckon that £852 of this amount is charges. I sent prelim letter asking for refund plus interesticon @ 27.9% (interest they charged me)

Received reply saying they would credit account with £276 plus 8% this being difference of current £12 fee and fee charged.

I accepted sum offered as part payment. but stressed I would carry on with action. Received reply saying They agree to credit account with the difference of charges incurred and £12. Having checked records they say I have been charged £738.32 including 8% they refunded £188.00 in 2006 £298.08 in June 2008 and they have now credited account with £252 .64 representing remaining charge. As you can see this is less than £276 plus 8% they offered.
Can anybody advise what I should do next? All help will be much appreciated.

Hi DC and welcome to the BC forum.

I assume you have your statements from BC as you've already worked out what they owe you in penalty charges.

Have you sent them the Prelim and lbaicon letters setting out the charges you want repaid, plus interesticon on those charges, as set out on the Site's spreadsheet.

Take a look at Alphageeks thread in this forum - this is a great example of a claim which includes interest on the charges.

If you are being chased by a DCAicon as well, you should send off a CCA request to see if BC can produce the Credit Agreement - if they can't, you can get the penalty charges refunded to reduce the debt to BC and you can repay the remainder at a rate which you can afford.

Use Letter N from here - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...templates.html adapted as nec'y and send By Rec'd Del'y or get a Certificate of Posting (free) from the PO.

Keep copies of all letters, doc'ts, etc as they'll be needed for any court case.
