Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

got a letter yesterday cancelling the PPI and sending a new direct debit agreement and a new payment amount each month.today i get a letter saying they are repaying ppi
i have just received my final response letter from welcome. They are repaying the premiums i have paid on the present loan.On the others they say it was my fault and that they follow strict guidelines and that all their staff have passed a specific insurance sales training course. They also say that i was made aware that the PPI would comprise part of the monthly repayments as shown by the signed personal agreements
in short where do i go from here. I was never made aware of the fact that the ppi was optional and was never told that i could cancel it at any time
When you got all the info from your SAR back, did it have all the stuff for the insurances - policies, who the insurer was, Breakdown of fees (commission, payment to insurer) etc?
I am betting it didn't. When I had to buy their insurance I wasn't asked a single question to see if it was suitable - if I had any health issues, any of the exemptions etc. You need to see if the policy would have even covered you in the first place.
doesnt say who the insurer is you are correct i got statements of all the payments i have made and its got summat called capitalization on it and copies of my agreements

There are 2 ways to get information one is the CCA for which you should receive. your credit agreement, the terms and conditions at the time the account was opened and a copy of the current terms and conditions, this will cost you £1.00.
The other way is to make a full S.A.R., this will cost you £10.00 and they should provide you with ALL information they hold on you. Statements, contracts, t&cs, correspondence, log of telephone conversations, if they have recorded them as they say they do, they should provide you with either a transcript or tape/CDrom. Insurance documents, etc, etc.

I am glad you got your current PPI sorted. I know it may seem a carry on, but I know that 2 lots of welcomes insurance can mount up to a bit of money, and if it was missold you are entitled to that back.
It will no doubt take a good while, but it is all by letter...
Send the SAR request away with £10 postal order - will get you the template
Once you get all your info through you we can see what they have/haven't sent you and we can help you with the next letter. Once you go through their complaint procedure then just pass it to the Ombudsman who will investigate for you and let you know.
It is up to you but if you want to fight them, we will certainly help

OK, well that save a load of time I suppose then! I would send the SAR, usual stuff - send recorded and do not sign - and see what they send.
Once you get it through you can either send them one letter offering them a final chance to settle, detailing whatever proof we can find...then of to the fos, or just straight to the FOS and let them deal with it.
The letter template I think best to use is here. Let us know what you decide
