Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi Everyone
I've just joined the forum and hope to help my son recover a lot of his bank charges he has suffered. His bank is Lloyds TSB and they're not backward in coming forward at debiting accounts very quickly .
It seems we need to ask for his bank statements/charges for the past six years - that is when he first opened his account with them.
I'm off to read the next process if the bank aren't helpful etc!
Good girl, you seem to have it sussed, come back if you get stuck ok?
I QUESTION THEREFORE I AM!!
Unfortunately i'm not an expert in any given field legally and my advice and that of the Consumer Action Group and the Bank Action Group is given without prejudice and without liability so please if in any doubt whatsoever seek help from an insured qualified professional. Contents of my posts are purely my own personal opinions and not condoned or endorsed in any way, shape or form by CAG. Thank you!
Once you start on the path to recovering your son's unlawful bank charges it would be a good idea to start a personal thread in the Lloyds forum for others who are in the same situation as him to follow and offer assistance. Good Luck!

There is a slight problem in that my son is currently working abroad.
If I signed the letters pp his name would they be acceptable? or,
if he wrote a letter giving me authorisation to deal with this on his behalf, do you know if that would be acceptable?
Second option is best, and include a copy every time you write to them. I'd also sign the letters: Mrs Mum, Authorised Representative of Son (but using your names of course )!

He has told me to send the letter requesting statements/charges and by signing on his behalf. He's home in ten days time for a week and will write the authorisation letters & sign them so I have a bundle in case they won't accept photo copy letters! Hopefully that will be fine.
Mmmmmm I do like the: Authorised Representative of Son bit
EDITED:
Just a thought I presume the cheque is payable to Lloyds Bank?
Just to let you know that we received a letter today from Lloyds not from London office where cheque was sent etc but from Customer Service Recovery Centre in Birmingham.
I've now gone over to the bank site and started a thread there as thewifeandi suggested. The letter was really nice but I was slightly surprised at the wording of the opening paragraph "I am just writing to let you know that we've received your complaint - and to say how sorry I am to lern that you're unhappy with us".
