    Hi all

Have received a letter from A&L saying that the OFT consider the late payment fee charge to be unfair but that they are referring to Credit cards not banks.

I sent them the bank letter regarding overdrafticon fees etc, not late payment fees.

Is this the standard letter of reply from A&L or have I botched this somewhere along the line?

Today is day 14 so I should be doing my money claim tomorrow.

    Any advice?

    Thanks

    Hi Zoe

If the last letter you sent was the prelim letter requesting your money back, the next step is the letter before actionicon (LBA). This gives the bank another 14 days to reconsider before you take court action (Moneyclaim).

After you send the LBA you will probably get another letter back saying pretty much the same as the first. Don't worry about it, just get on with the moneyclaim when their 14 days are up.

Did you say you're not claiming for the late payment fees?? why not? they are illegal charges too!

    Good Luck

I received the letter this morning about that one (I was nearly going to write back with the statement "it must be the first PERSONAL letter I have received from you". See Update on my thread (to avoid duplication of information!)

    Best of luck

Red face Re: Macleod v Alliance & Leicester

    OK

I have just submitted my moneyclaim form, I have used the template and other people's examples to fill in the form so hopefully wont have messed it up!

I have claimed for £1130.94 including the 8% interesticon and court fees.

Very excited, a bit aprehensive and just hoping that it works.

I have opened up a parachute accounticon so this shouldn't be a problem.

Will let you know what happens.

    Thanks
