Credit Card refused Buyer's Protection for online Purchase made
Dear friends,
This unfortunate event happened with me as HSBC Bank refused to protect me and refund the money when purchase a computer from EBay and been sold a damaged item by a fraud EBay seller. I sent to the bank the snaps of the broken and damaged computer which I received but they came back with a weird reason, saying as I made the payment through PaisaPay they cannot do anything and I have to seek help from EBay India and Paisa Pay. But my question is that, I used HSBC Gold card to make the payment, I made the purchase online; the payment I made was a online payment where I had to give my card details and had to go through all the security details over the internet, then why on earth this transaction will not be treated as a online transaction. My question is does buying from EBay or any online auction site void my eligibility for online buyers protection. This is injustice and as a buyer I feel very unsecured and scared about the banking policy in UK. But I had to raise my voice as I might not be alone who has suffered by these banks. Is there anybody who can help me to put my grievances in front of HSBC and force them to rethink their ugly decision?

I am sure that HSBC are equally responsible for this purchase. I am not sure how you would go about forcing them to rethink their decision though. I am sure someone who will be able to help will be along soon.

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
