Hi
I am new to this site but have been reading up on all the good info you provide. I am trying to get some help with GMAC and Close Finance. I have fell behind with payments but was able to pay them £700 in may. I owe £1800 on a £10,000 car and have had Close out to try and get me to give the car back. They have charged me £800 in charges and say they will issue legal action to take the car back.
I'm going to move your post to a new thread so that advice to you won't get mixed up with adzya's case

I thought if you had paid 2/3rds of a car HP they cant take it back?
I would SAR close finance to see what the charges relate to £800 seems a bit steep, the template is in the forum library, send it recorded with a £10 postal order, do not sign just print your name, they then have 40 days to respond with all info and statements pertaining to this loan/lease.

That sound like a good idea, the £800 pound they have charged me is two lots of £300 which Close have charged gmac for taking on my case and the rest is for late payments. I told them i would not be paying these charges and i would only settle what i owe on the car. They have told me to make them an offer.
