house insurance claim- any advice greatly appreciated!!!!
hello all
last week my house flooded - loss adjuster and surveyor came. we moved into this house in july 2007. prior to this is was rented. on checking my policy it is still worded as if the house is tenanted. teh insurance co sent the assessor and surveyor. they asked me over phone if it was tenanted and i said no - alththough my documents say it is. does anyone out there think that the fact that we now live here and not tenants it will effect my claim? the damage is hugh so iam very concerned.
many thanks for your time

hi many thanks for your message. yes the policy states my bank at teh bottom - do you think this makes a different ? do you think the insuracne co could take the view the policy is invalid as no tenants ? they have gont to the effort of sending surveyor but maybe when they assess everything at the end it could come to light ?
many thanks for advice

BAsed on what you have said, it seems that you have informed them of the change from tenant to owner occupier and the claim should be valid. Let us know how you get on.
