Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have a quick question regarding correct issuing of ecn's.
Now I know that they are served under the rtra 1984, and they are not regarded as offences or penalties and all that, but do they need to contain all of the correct info to be valid. Things like date of issue and date of contravention, vehicle details etc like they do under the tma 2004 or would the LA just re-issue the ticket with the correct details
It depends on whats wrong with it as to whether it will get cancelled, the Council will not however send you a correct one.
hello green,
This was more of a hypothetical question rather than an actual ticket.
Ive only come across a couple of these in my time (one recently) and was just wondering about weather the dates and postal prejudices lilke moses and lukah have been challenged in court.

The legislation gives the Council power to issue an ECN but does not specify the content.
