    Default Car stereo problem

I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this. It's not a garage problem, just a problem with my stereo.

Its a Sony XR-500C with a multichanger attached. The multichanger needs to be reset and the only way to do this is to take the front off the dashboard unit and that's the problem. I can't get it off.

The "open" button seems to be jammed.

I've read the instruction manual and I appear to being doing everything right but it's just not working.

    Any thoughts anyone?

Most systems like that have the changer in the boot and only the head unit in the car.
Can't find anything under Sony with that model number.

You can either email Sony for advice or look in the phone book for your local car radio shop (they do CDs aswell)

normally there is a frame around the headunit which detaches, you should then be able to remove the headunit with the supplied removal keys, once the headunit is half way out the dash you may be able to see what is jamming the unit, or you may be able to fully remove the unit and disconnect the power from the rear of the unit that may reset it by disconnecting the permanent live, but what consequences that may have i am unsure about, could also try disconnecting the battery live, but yet again unsure what may happen when the power is reconnected.
