Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
My partner took out a credit card July 07, I can only find his statements from January 08 but they are all showing £15.00 PPI on them.
I wrote to virgin asking for the ppi to be stopped and a refund to be give for what we felt was a ppi missold.
We received a response saying that they telephoned my partner after he took out the credit card offering ppi free for a month and that as he hadn't cancelled after the free month they had continued charging him for it.
I have written back advising that if it wasn't requested or signed for why would it need cancelling and again requesting a refund.
I'm just wondering whether my partner stands any chance of getting this money back? It probably totals about £180.00 which would really help to bring down the balance he still owes of about £1800.00... They have also really stung him on his interest rate moving it from 1.2% to 2.2% and keep changing his payment dates which always gives him a £12.00 late fee but thats another matter!
I sent off a CCA request for my hubby. All they had was an application form where he has ticked 'no' to PPI. MBNA claim it was agreed in a telephone conversation. It is now up to them to prove that.
Get those charges back too
I'm midway through the tunnel, but getting closer to the light.
virgin have cancelled the PPI but will not give a refund for the payments taken for ppi over the last 12 months in which I have had the credit card.
They have sent me a letter advising that there is no refund and that is there final response and they will not enter into any further correspondence about this matter.
