Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Good morrow everyone, hope somebody can help ? we were on a flight from Riga to Bristol on Sun May 25th 2008 that was canceled at the very last minute at 22-35 afetr we had already checked in.
We were told that a replacement flight back to Uk would not be possible until Weds( 3 days later) and that was to London ,our car was at Bristol.
In a nutshell we stayed another night in the lovely Riga, and booked very expensive convoluted route back to Bristol via plane train and taxi!!
We have travel insurance and we are pursuing the matter in that direction, but also we are trying in vain to contact Ryanair in order to gain compensation, but it is being to look impossible.I have sent several e mails and also written to them but no reply.
It seems that this appalling treatment of its customers is not uncommon, how the hell Ryanair can continue to get away with this dreadful, well i would say criminal behaviour is beyond me.
If your flight is cancelled or before the date of travel, is rescheduled so as to depart more than three hours before or after the original departure time then you will be entitled to a travel credit or full refund of all monies paid if the alternative flight/s offered are not suitable to you and you do not travel.
Ryanair does not provide monetary compensation under Article 7 of EU Regulation 261/2004 for flights which are delayed or cancelled for reasons beyond Ryanair's control (extraordinary circumstances). You may therefore wish to ensure that you have suitable private insurance cover in force to cover such eventualities. Your rights under EU Regulation 261/2004 are unaffected, so in the case of denied boarding, flight cancellation or a delay in excess of two hours you will be provided with a written notice setting out the rules for compensation and assistance in line with such Regulation.
Passengers who book well in advance should re-check their outward/return flight timings on www.ryanair.com or with a Ryanair reservations centre between 24 and 72 hours prior to departure.
I think this means that you are entitled to a full refund of the flight you were originally supose to take but tough luck on any additional expences you occur.
Someone will hopefully be along who knows more about your situation and can offer some good advice
As I understand it & to be sure you'll need to check further but under recently introduced rules your also entitled to upto £415 per person to cover additional costs
