Fed up with Natwest trying to be the help when they are clearly not!!!
Hi,
I would like to say hi to every modurators and members of this forum. I was relieved to have found out that there are a lot of people like me who became a victim of Banks tricking people so they can make money for themselves!
I am a single mum who has 3 kids and is working fulltime. I separated with my partner a few years back and since then my finances had spiralled down! Natwest offered 'full support' with consolidation, etc and I was offered a loan after loan back from 2006 when money became really tight. Originally I was offered £4,000 with PPI. Second visit was because I had a over 1000dr on my account so offered to consolidate-£7,000 again with PPI. Finally, I received a call from a customer advisor and I thought I could do with a little extra so went for the £10,000 consolidation loan.:-|
My loan has been resetled again and again until it reached a staggering £17343.26 balance.
From that amount, I had only received £4000 at first then I got just over £1,700 and then £1400 for the later which didn't really made £10,000< which they said is the final consolidation loan but with PPI of course and interest it has reached £17343.26.
I am not very bright and when you are tight 'you take whatever you can get'< exact quote by the staff but I think I have been con by Natwest.
Would there be any chance for me to get some of the money back?
I feel that I have been taken advantage of by because I was desperate.
Can any one offer me some advice how to cancel and get some of the money they have charged me over a 2 year period?
I was told that I could not cancel my PPI by one of the staff.
And now judging by some of the threads I read in this forum, I should be able to.
Re: Fed up with Natwest trying to be the help when they are clearly not!!!
The FSA have deemed policy's that can't be cancelled to be unfair!
Hopefully this will help start you off:-
You need to identify the reasons you feel you were mis-sold (e.g you were self employed, you already had a medical condition, you were unemployed, they insisted you had to take it out etc etc) see this thread for a list of reasons
You will also need to have all of the information to start with so if you don't already have all the statments, settlement Breakdown and contracts etc then send the following SAR with a postal order for £10 to make the request (they must provide this information within 40 days) Also make sure you send the letter recorded delivery and keep the proof they received it.
Once you have all the info you can then send off the mis-selling letter template, these letters can be found in the first post of this thread (scroll down the post til you found the heading "Template Letter 1"
Hope that helps start you off! I would also suggest you have a read around the PPI forum particularly in the stickies at the top as there is alot of helpful information to assist you along the way and keep us updated
