Anybody ever been contacted by a BOS investigator??
I recently CCA'd BOS. Who had passed my debt to Apex who then ran a mile. I was then contacted by someone stating they were an investigator appointed by BOS. The strange thing is this aggressive and rude investigator could only be reached by mobile phone.
Call me cynical but he could have been Adam for all I know.
My feeling is that it was another DCA but am unsure.
The CCA turned up but only 2 pages of 7.
When you request a CCA does it alert them to what you are going to do?
Would also be intrigued to hear from anyone who has had an 'investigator' ring them from a mobile phone and refuse to give an office number.
Re: Anybody ever been contacted by a BOS investigator??
At first glance, just ignore it then. If it's a mobile phone, and they refuse to give you a landline number, you should refuse to answer to them. They could be anybody, like you said.
With all the CCA's flying about, it wouldn't surprise me that it's some new ruse they are trying (probably totally unlawfully too), but they are only interested in the £ signs.
You're not cynical at all (unless you're old... you tend to get that way.. lol), just cautious.
Re: Anybody ever been contacted by a BOS investigator??
Another thought would be to write a strongly worded letter, stating what has happened, and that you will only deal in writing... not any old Tom, Dick or Harry who happens to call you out of the blue.
Re: Anybody ever been contacted by a BOS investigator??
There is a site (whos name I can't remember at the moment), where you enter the number, and you will see if anybody else has had a call from that number. I was just going to try that... assuming I could remember the name of it.
I must be getting old too... and forgetful (I was already cynical lol).
As for the BOS and this call you received. The company (BOS) is responsible for the actions of anybody it employs to do it's business, hence the reason for writing that letter to them, letting them know they are employing Tom, Dick... or could it be Harry... who knows?? It would be worth suggesting that as soon as whoever it is actually identifies themselves, then there might be a swifter resolution.
Re: Anybody ever been contacted by a BOS investigator??
OK... you were right... you're cynical lol.
But seriously, if the BOS has employed this person, then the BOS are responsible for his actions. I'd tell them that if they want you to play ball, anybody employed by them has to play ball too.
Of course, you're quite right to ignore it, but just keep a note of any attempted communication with this idiot, and IF he dares to come and visit you, ask for the court letter that allows him to visit ('cos thats the only way anybody is allowed to visit).
Re: Anybody ever been contacted by a BOS investigator??
I cant post the link but the site is called whocallsme. I had a quick hunt but couldnt see anything. I wouldn't worry about it, until/unless it hapopens again.
