Default Pleaase help TV Licence Fine

Hi everyone and thanks to anyone who can advise me. My wife got a TV Licence fine back in 2004, which we did forget about. Anyway a Court enforcement officericon called the week before last, wanting payment, which I did not have, he gave me until the 20th of June to pay. I contacted the court and they advised me to contact the TV licence people direct, which I did. I explained all my mitigation and asked for a payment plan, the guy I spoke to asked me to put everything in writting and he would see what he could do.

About a week later I got a phone callicon from him and he said that it was not in the public interesticon to pursue this fine and that they would re open the case and then withdraw it, so as long as I had a currant licence (which I do), we did not even have to pay the original fine. The date for this hearing is the 20th of June.

I have spoken to the court enforcement officericon and he is adamant that I still have to pay, he said if I dont pay he will be round on the 20th with a removal van to take my goods. I told him what was heppening and he just kept fobbing me off, and as far as they are concerned the court WILL NOT cancel the fine.

The enforcement officericon is from Marston (formally Drakes)

    Please help.
