Anyway, I shall keep this brief and give a longer moan once I have had the chance to look through all the helpful hints and read how other members dealt with the horrible banks. One thing I can say, bring back the shoebox under the bed, get rid of Standing Orders, Direct Debits, Debit cards, etc and just go back to the good old-fashioned way of handling money!
