Default CPS Could Go Bankrupt If.....

If I am reading the CPS website correctly it states that CPS will give their customers £25 for every ticket issued, or £10 for every ticket issued by a CPS warden

And if you recommend CPS to anyone else they will also give you £5 (inc vat) for each and every ticket issued for life on their land

It makes no reliance on the ticket issued been paid, they simply (simply - how appropriate) send out money to the land owners every time they issue a ticket (gotta love whoever thought that one up).

So, to my way of thinking if they are indeed honouring their promises they are sending out money for every ticket they issue and yet most of the tickets they issue are not generating any income because they are worthless bits of paper.

I suggest that anyone who has had dealings with CPS write to the owners of the land and highlight this promise from CPS and ask if they have really been getting what CPS promised them.

I suspect the landowners only get the money on paid invoices.

I think any sensible person would suspect that, however remember who we are dealing with here and it doesn't say that it is dependent on the invoice been paid. Therefore the landowner is entitled to expect it regardless.

Another fine example of a superb business model and a well thought out campaign.

If £25 is the maximum that the carpark owner will receive in any circumstance, then £25 is the maximum it can claim for as a pre-estimate of its losses, and anything more is a penalty.

I think I would stick that in any defence I had to make (in addition to all the stuff the legal advisors suggest).

Yep SteveM £25 for EVERY ticket that they issue on the land.

We are NOT talking about the landowner asking for a penalty, only that they do get the £25 CPS promised them when they agreed to let CPS manage their private land.

The point I was making was that with so many people now being wise to the fact that CPS cannot enforce their tickets CPS are not getting money in yet they are still obliged to pay out on every ticket they issue.

Won't be CPS that goes bankrupt. They are an unlimited liability partnership. All the principals are therefore liable for any outstanding debts - including our friend Perky- Hi Perky.

If you look at "The process" listed on their website you'll see this

On completion of the charge, a compensatory payment to the sum of either £10 or £25 (depending on your package) Inc VAT is returned to you.
I suspect that their contracts will include something on this, although given their in-house legal team, you never know. However nothing is said in "the process" about the details of the bonus scheme. You could infer that they get £5 for each ticket issued from each recommended customer regardless of whether they get paid or not.

Might be worth obtaining a copy of one of their contracts and seeing what the actual t&c's are.

An outfit which sees its "operatives" trolling and baiting all day and night on consumer forums and 4 people turn up to a preliminary court hearing does not appear to have much of a business to lose. Clearly the partners are less interested in making money than getting one over on their opponents (and not even doing particularly well at that). The question is not so much when they will go bankrupt as when they will finally disppear up their own orifice.
