You can only claim PPIicon if it has been mis sold in the first place. Have you checked to see if if you were mis sold?
Have you actually paid £2268.00 to them for ppi? It looks like it has been taken out of the loan. So if the loan was for 12260.00 and they took out 2268 for ppi then in effect you have paid for the ppi. If it was mis sold you can claim it back. Also any interesticon as a result of the ppi ammount. I am presuming you only wanted a 10,000 loan.

Correct, it was a £10,000 loan. I vaguely remember them skirting over how the payments would work and i seem to remember him saying we'll put this on and take it straight off again

i think he referring to the PPIicon but i've no idea! i was so desperate for the money just to cover some bills that i didnt care what he was doing really!

    bb23,

I have recently successfully claimed against HSBCicon for PPI - you must be sure that you can recall the events of the original visit/phone callicon to the bank, mine as an example was that the loan was agreed and I needed to go in the bank to sign the LOAN agreement. At this stage it was declared that PPI was included, which left me in a bit of a pickle, i asked a few questions and they answered and then I signed. However what I proved to be HSBC's failings were the fact that they never sat me down and discussed my INDIVIDUAL circumstances such as employment, medical history etc. I also did not have time to calculate and digest the additional PPI cover that was added to the loan, and the fact HSBC were making an abundant amount of profit out of this. However at the time I need to sign as it was for a car which I agreed to collect following my agreement in principle. If you point out to them why you think you were missold the PPI cover then you have a strong chance!

    Good luck!
