Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have been reading a few of the threads this morning and am trying to decide what the best thing to do is. I have been going through all of my bank statements with the A&L and have just realised how many charges they have charged me over the last few months. I realise that this is not a huge amount but it is still a lot of money to me. (Its horrible that when you've been trying so hard to clear your overdraft the only reason why you can't is due to the excess charges making your situation worse!) Do you think that I should start the ball rolling in writing to the A&L now or wait to see what happens first with the OFT before putting a claim in?
If I do send the first letter next week to the A&L do I still get them to work to all the same timescales as previously? (My husband successfully claimed a lot back from RBoS last year) All the template letters look the same but just wanted to make sure that I haven't overlooked anything?
Also if I do send them the first letter are the A&L likely to close my account? Are they doing this or not?
